Capital city giants fight for 4th position: Malawi TNM Super League

The battle for the top position in the top flight TNM Super League-which has been won by Bullets FCis over but soccer fanatics should expect another episode of entertaining football in the last weekend of the 2014-15 soccer season.

The major battle remaining now is between two central region giants and arc rivals Silver Strikers and Civo United.

The two clubs are currently tied at 42 points each and on position four but Silver have a superior goal difference.

Civo need to beat Kamuzu Barracks on Friday at home and pray that Silver lose to Azam Tigers at the Silver Stadium on Sunday to claim the fourth position.

The other races are also for the seventh and eighth position amongst Mafco, Azam Tigers and Kamuzu Barracks.

In other fixtures, Blue Eagles welcome second placed Moyale Barracks at the Nankhaka Stadium on Saturday while relegated Blantyre United will face the already crowned champions Big Bullets at the country’ Soccer Mecca Kamuzu Stadium.

Big Bullets, Moyale Barracks and Blue Eagles will remain unmoved on their respective first, second and third positions.

So far, Big Bullets have been the strongest team at home since they have concluded their matches unbeaten.

Mafco F.C have been the strongest team away from home having lost a single match.

Rookies Karonga United having failed to win away have been the weakest away team while Blantyre United with a single home win were the weakest team at home.

Mafco F.C. is now the highest scoring team in the elite league having scored 50 goals.

Karonga United has been the most conceding team having let in 66 goals.

With 18 goals conceded Big Bullets boost having the most water tight defense followed by their struggling rivals Mighty Wanderers (22 goals) and Moyale who have conceded 23 goals.

Epac F.C have drawn the most (12 matches) in the league and together with Airborne Rangers, Blantyre United, Chikwawa United plus Karonga United all are having a minus goal difference this far in the league. Chikwawa United (45) Red Lions (43) Mafco and Kamuzu Barracks both with 42 cards have accrued the most cards.
