Carlsberg kits out semifinalists

Ahead of the Carlsberg Cup semifinals this weekend the sponsors, Carlsberg Malawi Limited has dressed all the four semifinalists with a call to the teams to observe fair play during the games.

Speaking after presenting the uniforms to the teams, Senior Brands Manager for Carlsberg Malawi Limited Twikale Chirwa said as sponsors, they are happy with the competition.

He said Carlsberg’s obligation is to help in the development of football in the country.

“Look, since its inception in 2000, the Carlsberg Cup has contributed a lot to the development of football in the country, a development we are happy with. Today marks another chapter in the history of the competition and dressing all the semifinalist is part of our obligation.

“Next year, we hope to start disbursing uniforms at quaterfinal level. We run a competition with rich history and deserve to give enough respect. Let all the teams in the semifinals observe fair play because hooliganism is not part of us,” said Chirwa.

Chirwa also revealed that ahead of the games this weekend, Carlsberg will give out 500 free tickets to lucky supporters.

“Supporters are part of this competition. As such, we will be giving out 500 free tickets, 250 in Lilongwe and 250 in Mzuzu for the 2 games. What is required is that one has to buy 5 bottle’s of carls berg beer and earn a free ticket. This will be conducted at a few selected selling centres in the two cities on a first come first save,” said Chirwa .

On Saturday, Moyale Batracks welcomes Mighty Be Forward Wanderers at the Mzuzu Stadium while Red Lions and Nyasa Big Bullets will square it up at the Bingu National Stadium 24 hours later.
