CCAP elects Rev Mbolembole new spiritual father of Blantyre Synod

Church of Central Africa Presbyterian – Blantyre Synod- has elected Blantyre City Presbytery moderator Reverend Masauko Mbolembole as its spiritual father – Moderator- during elections conducted by Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), replacing Reverend Rabson Chimkwezule who has retired.

Rev Mbolembole: New Moderaor of Blantyre CCAP Synod

Mbolembole, who will serve a term of two years, defeated Reverend Edna Navaya with 187 votes to 132, while other contestants Reverend Ernest Mpate and Reverend Harrison Zgambo polled 88 votes and 25 votes respectively.

“I am there to serve everybody,” said Mbolembole after being elected.

Mbolembole will be deputized by Reverend Miriam Chipeta -Banda  of Blantyre North Presbytery  who was elected after defeating Reverend Jafali Asidi of Domasi Presbytery, the Reverend Brino Chipewa of Mulanje Presbytery, the Reverend Macford Kutani and the Reverend Peter Suyani of Blantyre City Presbytery and the Recerend Demeter Mthipela of Migowi Presbytery.

Reverend Moyenda Kanjerwa was retained as deputy general secretary when he defeated Reverend Anderson Juma with 333 votes against 97.

Blantyre Synod General Secretary Reverend Alex Maulana described the elections as free and fair.
