The people to regret will be DPP cadres who shot down the 50+1 threshold of votes. Chakwera will get the 32% and immediately be declared a Presidential winner whereas if the electoral law was changed, DPP would still have a chance to galvanize support from smaller parties for a re-run. It shot itself in the foot due to greed and short-sightedness.
That is true . Chakwera will become president of the Republic of Malawi come May 22, 2019. It is only someone who is pretending to be mayopic who can refute this reality. MCP under Ckakwera is the only viable option in Malawi at the moment.
