Chakwera brings Msowoya, Mia together at MCP rally
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president Lazarus Chakwera is bringing together Speaker of the National Assembly Richard Msowoya and Lower Shire politician, Sidik Mia at a political rally in Nkhotakota district this weekend after there has been cold war between the two as they all eye to be Chakwera’s running mate in 2019 elections.
Msowoya, who is also MCP first vice-president and Karonga Nyungwe member of Parliament (MP), has been speak tough after Lower Shire political giant Mohammed Sidik Mia, whom some quarters expect will partner Chakwera, was welcomed into the country’s oldest political party.
On Saturday 29 July Mia and Chakwera are expected to hold a rally at Nkhotakota LEA school, and Mia said Msowoya will be in attendance.
MCP officials confimed that attending the rally will be MCP deputy president Richard Msowoya, deputy secretary generak Eisenhower Mkaka, Ken Kandodo, Sosten Gwengwe, Ulemu Chilapondwa and other opposition leaders.
The coming in of Mia in MCP has deepened already existing divisions as he already declared intentions to become Chakwera’s running come 2019.
On the other hand, Msowoya has also vowed to be Chakwera’s running.

Others are very pathetic people living in the past like Winston Msowoya. In 1994 we engaged in a gear of multiparty democracy, with a new constitution that upholds human rights. The MCP of the 1990’s and 80’s is not the MCP of the 21st Century. The leaders holding different positions now are not the ones who existed in the party in yester years. This is a new breed of leaders.
If I may lecture Mr. Msowoya about a butchering party in existence, then that must be the DPP.
1. This party killed Robert Chasowa, a promising young life.
2. This party killed Issa Njauju. An innocent officer and father, for fear of being exposed about corrupt practices
3. DPP sends panga wielding cadets threating people in streets and disrupting other parties’ functions. The recent event being the Karonga lesson that they have been taught.
4. The DPP president himself while he was vying for the position slapped one of his critics, who happens to be Goodal Gondwe.
There are so many cases of arson that have gone unresolved. This is happening in a democracy under a party which has authoritarian characteristics. The DPP calls for comissions of enquiries that do not bring tangible conclusions at all. These comissions just waste tax payers money.
So which one is a butchering party in our democratic country Mr. Msowoya? The answer is obvious.

The DPP knows that the next elections are a do or die game. That’s why they are restless. There were occasions in the history of Israel that God was tired with corrupt leaders such as Ahab. He could intervene using any means after hearing cries from His people. I see that answer to the cries of Malawians happening in the next elections.
Malawians dont look at money. I dont trust Mia. He can join MCP bit why does He want VP position? He was in UDF and He quited and made a lot of noise. He has already said He want to bild mor muslim mosques and streghten muslims in Malawi. What does He men by that? There are enough mosques and the number of muslims is 10 %. Watch out please. Do u know he can get money from Saudi Arab. Do u want Islamic war in a Christian country? Kamuzu Banda stoped muslims and Catholics to build more churches There was a reason for that. Look at The World war to day. Its religious war of Islamic. In Malawi muslims and Christians are friendly people but that can Change. I am disappointed of Chakwela. If he is stupid he will not get votes from North. Its not many Who can vote from South for MCP even If Mia become VP of MCP. But If Musowowa Who has been there long.
Malawians are not fools to elect or vote for the Party of blood and evil once again.After 32 years of extreme brutalities against Malawian voters,the scars are still visible in our hearts and the spirits of the Matenjes,Gadamas,Sangalas,Orton Chirwa,Dunduzu Chisiza,Richard Madinga,Attati Mphakati,Lifford Mhango,Matupi Mkandawire,John Ngwengwe,Augustin Bwanausi,Harry Jonga,Pemba Ndovi and many others are still haunting MCP.How about those people who were thrown to the crocodiles in the Shire River and alongside the victimization of Jehova Witnesses? Malawians will never betray their spirits.

The two (Msowoya and Mia) may be at “logger-heads” but will burry the hatchet in order to fight the common enemy together; DPP. They have a common agenda to oust the current govt.

Mupenga a dyabu inu, akusiireni boma ndani. Yes you must strategize to form a strong opposition, but for sure forget about taking over government. Even if you can bring in the most popular Prophets to start praying for you from now till 2019, you will still lose the elections. Your Chakwera will remain leader of opposition not state president. Let him go back to the assemblies of god headquarters and resume pastoring. Finally, Chakwera shall never become president of this country

That’s the way to go gentlemen. As I said, this party has no landlord so everyone has a genuine right to aspire to be anything with the support of the party structures. Lets not continue the very risky approaches of foreclosing the party to new members and ideas and continue dreaming of winning an election. Malawians have banked their 2019 hopes on you guys and you will not recover if you carelessly lose this election.

Great Richard Msowoya. You have made good decision this is not the time of bickering but rebuilding. We already have the upper hand in winning elections therefore need to go extra mile in order to win the coming elections by landslide not going into rerun.
