Chakwera says Malawi governed by educated fools, urges for genuine transformative leadership

Malawi opposition leaders Lazarous Chakwera has maintained his call  for  genuine transformative leadership grounded in moral foundations for  Malawi to develop, saying currently there are a lot of “educated fools” in political leadership.

Chakwera: Malawi needs transformative leadership not educated fools

Chakwera made the remarks at Transformation Alliance (TA) convention on Friday in Blantyre.

The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president urged for transformation leadership and the need to come up with a National Development Plan.

“What we continue to lack is transformational leadership that is not defined by region, tribe or age. Leadership is not measured by education. We have a lot of educated fools in the country’s political leadership. What we need is to know who we are, where we are and where we want to be. Not mediocrity and politics of appeasement,” he stated.

He said the country should ensure it adopt a culture of integrity and desist from wrongful self enrichment.

Chakwera, 62, said he believes he has unique competencies, charisma and character that can more fully represent the new face of hope and the future that Malawians long for.

He said Malawi needs esthe kind of transformational leadershipto stir her from the seeming vicious cycle of mediocrity, corruption, nepotism and politics of subsistence to high levels of excellence, integrity, unity and abundance for all not only the few.

Chakwera also questioned the continued use of public broadcaster for propaganda.

Chakwera credentials

Chakwera, who comes from Lilongwe, holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Malawi; Bachelor of Theology (Hons) from University of the North, Sovenga, South Africa; Master of Theology from University of South Africa and a PhD from Trinity International University in USA.

Santana, I think I should join others to educate you about Chakwera. Chakwera is still a child of God and powerful preacher of the gospel even now. Failing to become State President in 2014, does not mean God is angry with him. God is just preparing him on the mantle he is about to carry come 2019. In fact , its ” we”we Malawians who have faced the wrath of God for entrusting Mutharika at the expense of His child. We have witnessed floods, hunger, collapsing economy, worst corruption, bloodshed of innocent souls, and many more. All this should serve… Read more »

Malawians knows that Malawi is ruled by educated idiots. It is a shame because They cimplained when Muluzi ruled calling him Un educated. Look now. Two brothers educated Malawi is not doping well. Divide the nation in trivs and region which makes difficult for Malawians from other parts where the leader dos not come biter and makes the nation not tog unite. AT least Muluzi United the nation. Why educated Africans are not like other races? What is the meaning of education? The nation need educated citizens for development that They are helping US with aid to educated US in… Read more »

Mr Kaitano, the better way of correcting the govt is not only by being on the seat of state president. Chakwera could still contribute and correct govt while still a pastor. We have good examples in M’busa Ndabaningi Sithole and Bishop Abel Muzolewa both in Zimbabwe. Despite the many blunders and atrocities by Comrade Mugabe, they never abandoned God to vie for Mugabe’s political seat. We have Desmond Tutu in South Africa who despite being vocal against Apertheid he never thought of joining politics even after the blacks started ruling. It is common knowledge that when you present your voice… Read more »

Am not surprised neither, but just to stand on my truth and my very truth Santana. Are you denying that Malawi needs new people in politics? Who will be them? Do we need the Angel of God to be our president or God can use the same people who are also God fearing or pastor to be our leaders?Do you want to tell me that the president we have to day is a sinner because he is serving Malawians? or Do you want to tell me that we don’t need people outside politics to join politics? Do you want to… Read more »

Hahahahahaha!! sorry i did not much go on the issue of other countries you have mentioned here, Zimbabwe and South Africa, you can not compare them with Malawi, look what is happening now in Zimbabwe, is it for the goodness of the citizen? or go to South Africa now tell me what is happening? Don’t you think that someone was not in a position of speaking the future like what Chakwera is doing? Ahhhhhhh NO!! I understand now, you are missing what we need in Leadership, by the way are you a Malawian who sometimes celebrate the John Chilembwe day?… Read more »

No wonder, Malawians are indeed fools. Dr Chakwera has just said hundred percent truth why Malawi is failing to develop but here you are saying shit. Have you ever asked yourself why Malawi is failing to develop and yet she has enjoyed peace that no country on has tested it?. Have you ever asked yourself why Rwanda, a country that has been at war for many years is developing yet she doesn’t have any minerals?. If I may ask have you ever seen a planning of Lilongwe as a city or Blantyre and Mzuzu how you want them to be… Read more »

Mr Chakwera, its a pity that you don’t know that you are one of the educated fools. Why? Because you abandoned Gods work in search of the “ALMIGHTY DOLLAR”.

There are few educated than none and in the eye of the majority there’s a thin line between leadership and level of education.

Mr. Chakwera I truely wonder if you are a righteous man of God, how can you call your fellow Leaders as Educated Fools? Will it be wrong to call you master fool because you are also educated and a leader of the main opposition political party. Also remember that like JONA you ran away from preaching the good GOSPEL of GOD, insteady you have chosen to preach EVIL …… with this Mr. Chakwera I edge you to humble yourself you are not all that good as compared to your fellow Leaders.

Mr Jamax, i thought you are like some one who reads the Bible, Do you really understand the word of God? am very sorry for you my brother. What happened with Jonah? if you refer Jonah to Mr Chakwera, are you really follow the story or i should also teach you what is happening? Why do you take God like your uncle? there will be no one who will run away from God my friend read again. So as Chakwera did not and he is not and he will not run away from God. Is it not good for a… Read more »

Thanks very much my dear brother Kaitano you are becoming one of my best friends, so you want me to stop likening Chakwera with Jona, ok I will not stop now until I see him going back to the pulpit the way Jona did through the power of God. Look here my friend, if Chakwera was preaching this very massage in the Church or at a very Big Spiritual Crusade I don’t think he could have uttered such EVIL words ,,,,,,, just imagine calling his friends (Educated Fools), this sentence does not show spiritualism,,, it’s full heavy of hatred….. it… Read more »

Here i come again,i think Mr Jamax you are missing one thing. seriously if you really love Malawi, you would stand with all Malawians especially those who are in the Villages crying unless you tell me that you don’t care. What Chakwera said is very true and am not reversing it, mwina Chichewa chingaveke bwino kuti Tili ndi anthu ophunzira koma opusa, is it what you wanted? the word fool and stupid is it the same? Now lets go to your point about what Jesus said, hahahahahahahahaha! are you working some where or you are BWANA on your own? what… Read more »

Mr Kaitano this is what we sharing views you take things at your own angle & so is everyone else but yes I agree with you we should let God be the only judge. If God will give us Chakwera I will be more than happy so it will be same even if he gives us anybody else apart from him because it will be his decision. All what is required is each one of us to LOVE GOD, LOVE EACH OTHER, work very hard & support each other and our country will perform wonders.

Starting from today just know that God does not employ people, we call it calling when you are working it his field bro, What Jesus simply said was to show you that you can not be employed by two at once, because they may need you at the same time. Its not about calling, Now you should know how to differentiate these two things, In calling that is to say God has chosen someone to work in his field, he can give you many things to do according to his desire. Look Mr Jamax, these people we call them servants… Read more »
