Wilma Chalulu who just a week after won the Marsh (Malawi) Limited golf tournament on Saturday came tops in IntoSports inaugural competition at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC).
Still playing off 36-handic the lady golfer had 75 net and recived a K40 000 (about $95) shopping voucher and a trophy.
“I am delighted. It was a great day and my playing partner made me enjoy my game,” said Chalulu.
The runner-up in the ladies’ category was 26-handicapped Beatrice Mangwana on 78 nett. She counted out Diana Kambale and got a K30 000 (about $71) shopping voucher and a trophy.
In men’s category, Lance Pinto emerged the champion with a score of 66. He and received a K60 000 (about $142) shopping voucher and a trophy from IntoSports.
James Shonga was the runner-up with a 68 nett score. He received a K40 000 (about $95) voucher and a trophy.
IntoSports managing director Shabir Ismail said he was “encouraged to carry on”, saying the turnout of 81 golfers overwhelmed him.
BSC golf captain Hudson Kantwanje thanked IntoSport for the sponsorship.
