The event which was held at Sheaffer ICA Marque on Sunday 9th of July was indeed a success as many people were all smiles after being treated to a rare type of entertainment as renowned poets on the land dished their best selections.

The venue, provided seats for the patrons but at times, the crowd could abandon their positions as they could not help it but express they joy in laughter, a thing that proved to be undoable in a sitting mode.

Some of the outstanding performances were from upcoming poet, Thomas Phiri of the “Monday ku dip” fame, Joseph Madzedze, Frank Naligonje, Patwel Phiri, Alex Standy, Samuel Joseph, Raphael Sitima and Hudson Chamasowa and Madalitso Band which also performed its best.

Apart from poets, comedians Mr. Malawi, Atcheya, Anti-gate, and Mr. India also performed to the satisfaction of the crowd that gathered for the show.

Channel for All Nations radio and Television Mlakatuli programme presenter Chris Loka expressed satisfaction for the turn up describing it as good.

Loka said the turn up showed that there is high demand for poetry shows in the country and that  events of such caliber will continue to happen each and every year.

Said Loka, “People should look forward to another event like this next year. We will announce the dates, all people need to do is keep their ears open.”

He said the patronage was very encouraging “giving us the edge to organize more events in future”

“Honestly, the turn up has been very encouraging, considering the time and resources we had to advertise the event. This has given us muscle to come up with more events of this kind,” he added.

The Mlakatuli annual event, a CAN media initiative came back after a year break.
