Chartered Institute of Marketing Malawi awards on November 30

The 2019 Marketing Excellence Awards is scheduled for November 30 at Sunbird Mount Soche hotel in Blantyre, the organizers, Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) – Malawi Chapter have announced.

CIM-Malawi Publicity Secretary Natascha Jere disclosed that the annual CIM-Malawi Marketing Excellence Awards aim to recognize companies, agencies and other outstanding individuals that play a significant role in the marketing and communications industry each year.

“These awards are there to promote and nurture a culture of excellence as well as to motivate organizations and companies towards continuous improvement of Marketing and Public Relations initiatives,” she said, adding, “We believe these awards motivate and encourage companies to strive towards the exceptional delivery of various products and services to their customers. It goes without saying that marketers play a vital role in stimulating the country’s economic growth.”

Jere said all preparations for this prestigious awards ceremony are on course and that the institution has now started receiving entries.

“We are currently requesting companies and individuals to submit entries specifying the category they would like to contest in. There is no limitation to the number of entries per entity.

“The companies or individuals will be asked to submit a one pager detailing the company name, the project name, the impact on the community and the reason why the submission should be considered for the awards,” said Jere.

Jere added that since marketing is continually evolving, this year they have introduced two new categories; “Positive Youth Development” which is being sponsored by Health Policy+ and “Experiential Marketing Agency”.

“As CIM Malawi we are very passionate about developing the youth in this country because these are the future Marketers and leaders. We also believe that Experiential Marketing is key to eliciting instant behavioral Change,” stated Jere, adding that student membership has grown significantly as a result of the various initiatives her organization has introduced aimed at developing the youth.

Jere said the deadline for the submission of entries is November 20,2019, after which, the names of all nominees will be published in the local papers. Thereafter a panel of judges will choose the finalists, who will be announced during the gala dinner.

The annual event, now in its seventh-year, awards different categories that include Marketing Campaign of the year, Marketer of the year, Public Relations Project of the Year, Advertising Agency of the year, Outstanding SME Marketing Initiative, Brand Malawi Initiative of the year, Life Changing brand of the year, Marketing Game Charger of the year, Corporate Social Investment of the Year and Digital Marketing Initiative of the year among others.
