Chewa Heritage publicity secretary Jimmy Chikuni said in an interview that they expect to raise K11 million for the event that will take place at Mkaika in neighbouring Zambia.

“The money will help to beef up our budget in terms of food, accommodation and transport. We want to make this Kulamba ceremony memorable to everyone who is going to come to the ceremony.

“People should come in large numbers because there will be a lot of traditional dances such as mganda, chimtali, gulewamkulu and Chewa traditional dishes will also be served at the dinner,” Chikuni said.

He said the dinner and dance is not only for the Chewa people but all well-wishers who want to assist the heritage.

Tickets for the dinner and dance are going at K25, 000, K40, 000 double and K400, 000 for a corporate table.

“We are calling upon all well-wishers to come and patronise this event and enjoy themselves while assisting the Chewa Heritage.
