Chewa King  Gawa Undi on 10-day Malawi tour: To attend Mulhako wa Alhomwe festival

Chewa King His Majesty Kalonga Gawa Undi  from Zambia will be arriving this Sunday for a 10-day visit to Malawi and while in the country, he will also attend this year Mulhakho Wa Alhomwe ceremony as a special guest at Chonde in Mulanje District.

Chewa Heritage Foundation (CHEFO) secretary general Richard Mdyetseni confirmed the development and said Gawa Undi will tour his chiefs and his subjects almost in all districts after attending the Mulhakho wa Ahlomwe ceremony.

Local Government Ministry officials  had assured the Chewa grouping that the chief will be allowed to visit Malawi and shall engage the Chewa Heritage foundation to prepare for his it.

Kalonga was also here in Malawi during the funeral of the mother to former Vice-President Dr Justin Malewezi and since then he had never been to Malawi.
