The reinstatement was confirmed in an internal memorandum dated August 31, 2026, issued by BWB Acting Director of Human Resource and Administration Lawrence Kadzitche and sent to all members of staff.

The memo, titled “Position of Chief Executive Officer,” stated that following the court’s ruling, Chihana’s suspension had been “completely lifted together with all the conditions and restrictions communicated earlier.”

“Let us all continue to extend our usual full support to our Chief Executive Officer as he continues to discharge his duties,” the memo read, signed by Kadzitche.

Chihana himself confirmed the development in an interview, welcoming his return to the role.

Supporters of Chihana were seen celebrating outside the court following the ruling, cheering the decision that paved the way for his swift return to office.
