Chikwawa grabs first ever Malawi TNM Super League win

After frustrating Big Bullets to a 1-1 draw last weekend, Chikwawa United were at it again on Saturday when the rookies in the TNM Super League secured their first victory in the campaign following their 1-0 win against Red Lions at Kalulu Stadium.

The newly-promoted side were full value for their victory as Lankeni Mwale was responsible in inflicting pain to the Zomba-based soldiers in the famous result.

Red Lions coach Billy Phambala said he was disappointed with the outcome of the game.

“This is disappointing because I didn’t expect such a result,” he said.

The Lions are coming straight to a 1-0 victory against the Nomads last Wednesday.

In other matches, Moyale Barracks continued with a fine form as they clobbered Karonga United 2-0 as Blantyre United won 3-2 to Airborne Rangers.
