Chikwawa turns to be a political battle field

Chikwawa has turned to be a political battlefield ahead of the 2019 general election as the ruling party descended to the Lower Shire in full force just a week after the Malawi Congress Party went there.

DPP rally in Chikwawa

Foreign Affairs minister Francis Kasaila, Information minister Nicholas Dausi and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) secretary general Glazider Jeffrey were among top party officials who were at the rally on Saturday.

Consipicously missing was the party vice president for the south George Chaponda, the embattled former Agriculture minister who was given bail on Friday after he was arrested in corruption related charges.

Kasaila told the people that the DPP-led government is fulfilling its 2014 campaign promises and would continue to develop the country.

Dausi said the MCP would not return to power due to its tainted history of blood and darkness- apparently Dausi was long time member of MCP in one party dictatorship and rose up to the post of vice president.

The MCP held its mega rally last week in the same area where the party welcomed Sidik Mia, Ken Kandodo, Halima Daudi and Ulemu Chilapondwa among others. The MCP has on Saturday also welcomed the Mzuzu mayor into the party fold.

All this is because of three reasons: nepotism, theft and corruption. These three evils will haunt DPP up to its grave. Deuteronomy 31:29 says “For I know that after my death you will act corruptly and turn from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days, for you will do that which is evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger with the work of your hands.” So do not expect peace in DPP until it gets finished.

Iam not a fan of DPP but, when it comes to juxtaposition,Iam for the DPP in the sense that eventhough Muthalika and his group are not up to the standard, they can comprehend the problems of Malawians at least better than an Arab Muslim. It is unfortunate that our peoples’ comprehension of political lore is slightest hence, they fall into wrong and misguiding expositions.Right now,MCP is not in a position under the leadership of the God’s rebel Chakwera,to enunciate progressive ideals ready for kick-start.Chakwera and his bed-fellow Muslim are in politics to amass wealth and not to carry on effective leadership to emancipate our… Read more »
