Chilima energises Ntcheu to vote for Chakwera: ‘Malawi must do away with thieves in power’

Vice President Salous Chilima has urged people in his home district Ntcheu to come out in large numbers and vote for Dr Lazarous Chakwera of Malawi Congress Party (MCP), saying the opposition Tonse alliance is united and determined to redeem the country from “thieves and liars”.

Chilima said this on Saturday at a rally he held at Ganya in Ntcheu.

He said Tonse Alliance was formed as a response to the wishes of the people and to attain 50+1 percent as ordered by the Courts.

“I and Dr Chakwera and other alliance partners are united. If you vote for Dr Chakwera you have voted for me and UTM,” Chilima assured the people of Ntcheu.

Chilima said while he is capable to be President he allowed Chakwera to lead so that in unity they remove DPP.

He then took time to remind people of Ntcheu about UTM promises that will be incorporated into Tonse Alliance manifesto.

Chilima assured people of Ntcheu of cheap fertilizer at K4,495 per 50 kg bag and three meals a day.

He also reiterated implementation K75 billion loan scheme to women and the youth, one million jobs for the youth.

Chilima said the stampede that happened early this week in Mzuzu and other parts of the country when ministry of health were conducting walk in interviews for Health Surveillance Assistance is clear evidence that most youths lack jobs in the country.

He also said the Tonse government will establish mega farms in Ntcheu and factories to add value to crops produced in the district.

UTM Regional Governor Alhaj Sande thanked Chilima for crisscrossing the whole eastern region campaigning for Chakwera and Tonse alliance.

Sande urged supporters in Eastern region to get ready to vote in large numbers.

He applauded Chilima for enlightening Malawians that politicians should not divide them on religious lines and assuring Eastern region that Tonse alliance will respect and uphold freedom of worship.

Member of Parliament for Ntcheu North East Arthur Chipungu who has defected to UTM said access to water is a serious problem in the area.

The MP said most people in his area still drink unsafe water.

He fruther said there are many youths in his area who are jobless and are looking foward to benefit from the one million jobs

Chipungu said people in his area are ready to vote for Chakwera and put Tonse Alliance in government.

  1. Inu a UTMCP, please tell us where the money for our presidential jet is. Joice Banda wasanduka olungama lero chifukwa ali mbali yanu? This only confirms kuti even ku UTMCP integrity kulibe and nothing will change even if we change government. It’s business as usual. And Tonse alliance stands to plunder this country more than ever coz mwachulukanako and most of Tonse members ndimbava or disgrantled politicians.

  2. Chilima is aware that he made a disastrous move when he agreed to partner MCP, unfortunately it is too late to reverse the decision because time is not on his side and he is ashamed of making such a pronouncement (wagwiritsidwa bibi basi).

    All along we have been saying this person is a novice in politics. He overshot his limits by listening to women, who form the bigger chunk of his party. I feel sorry for enlightened people like Chidanti Malunga and others. Manganya seem to have read the message, hence not being very active. I will say this again: The Chairman (MEC) has fired a warning shot (in military terms known as ‘Tracer’) that it is not the number of people coming to your gatherings that makes you a winner but the most number if votes cast in your favour. That has come in good time knowing well the type of people he will be dealing with, that after losing they will rush to the courts to complain. People have now known Chilima’s shenanigans. 23rd June will soon be approaching……go out there and campaign objectively and desist from attacking personalities. People want to hear what your government will do for them and not history. If you had noticed that there are some people who misappropriated funds, then you are presenting the case to a wrong forum, try the courts or ICC your favoured ‘BULLDOG’.

    SKC also was Involved in all these Corrupt Cases other wise he could have talked in Open
    SKC is also a member of same GANG of Thieves whom we call Peter Mutharika or Chakwera or
    Chilima they all are from the same Dirty Gutters of Corrupt Govt

    Why Govt never supports the ACB of Malawi as ACB has got lot of GOVT cases to sort out but due to political intervention there Hands are always Hand Cuffed

    That’s Malawi and we poor Malawians will always be in that position unless we Malawians fight for our Right to Information from Govt

  9. 10 days to go before voting the Regionalistic Professor Peter Muthalika is yet to visit Central and Northern Regions. How does APM expect to win the elections? Chakwera is campaigning in the Northern Region,SKC is in the Eastern Region, APM is sitting phwwi phwii at Sanjika.By actions, APM has already accepted defeat.

    1. It never about patronage, ask Atupele he will tell you… He got 200,000 votes only countrywide yet he thought patronage of people who didn’t register to vote mattered.
