Chilima extended invitation after inspecting and appreciating Israeli Mekorot National Water Carrier plants in Galilee on Wednesday.

He described the Israel water technologies as amazing and serious and that Malawi could benefit with such technologies.

“There is a lot we can tap and learn from Israeli experts. They should come to Malawi first and appreciate what we have and perhaps, from there we can begin telling the story together,” said Chilima.

It was learnt that with such new technologies in water and irrigation, Israel is able to produce US$5billion export products.

Malawi’s Agriculture Minister Allan Chiyembekeza also spoke highly of the Israeli Water Management System, noting that with commitment and determination like that of the Israeli, Malawi can achieve it.

“We need to mobilise our resources as a country; it is achievable as long as we work hard and together, employing new technologies,” said Chiyembekeza.

Romen Wolfman, one of the experts at the Israeli Mekorot National Water Carrier, said they are to come to Malawi and share knowledge and expertise irrigation technologies.
