Chilumpha says Malawi should embrace God given JB: Attacks DPP

Peoples Party (PP) Vice President responsible for Central Province Dr. Cassim Chilumpha has asked Malawians to embrace the leadership of President Joyce Banda for the country’s economy to fully recover.

Chilumpha made the remarks when he addressed a political rally Sunday at Area 24 Township in Lilongwe.

“When we were being tortured by the past leadership, Malawians cried to the listening God for better leadership, and the prayers were answered, He has given us Joyce Banda, let us embrace her as our leader. She has good plans and projects that will surely turn around the economy of this country very soon,” said Chilumpha, a former State Vice President.

“The restoration of the international relationships and the coming in of good tobacco buyers are the foundation of this success,” he pointed out.

“We are a determined government which does not wish to see her people suffering. Do you think we are happy with the rising of fuel and maize on the market?” said Chilumpha.

On the rising of fuel prices, Chilumpha blamed the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leadership for the mess saying that was why the current leadership was finding it tough.

“Zinthu zimaphweka  ukamaononga koma kuti ukonze zimavuta komaso kuchedwa. The DPP leadership destroyed everything and they are now expecting this leadership to build within a month, that’s not on. They are just ashamed that we are on track to mend things up and soon Malawians will be more than happy with the PP leadership.

“Now they are telling Malawians to vote them into power again in 2014, what else do they want in government? To mess things again as they did before? Do they think that Malawians are fools, no they don’t deserve a second chance,” he said.

Chilumpha was accompanied to the rally by some PP National Executive Committee members like Jimmy Bauleni Manna, Kalazi Mbewe, Levy Luwemba, David Kambalame and Zelesi Gomani.

And speaking earlier, Manna who is the party’s Second Director for Youth said PP has secured a K5 billion youth loan outsourced from the United States of America (USA) by President Banda during her recent visit there.

“We have been promised a loan from the US based Malawians who love the party and very soon, you will see the youth receiving these loans to enhance their life styles.

“As a party, we look at the youth not as a tool to silence our critics, but as front runners in developing the country. We want them to be financially stable,” he said.

The parliamentarian said the loan would benefit every young Malawian regardless of the party, region or religion
