Chimulirenji condemns vicious killings on people with albinism: ‘Let’s purge the syndicate’
President Peter Mutharika’s Democratic progressive party (DPP) running mate in the 2019 presidential race, Everton Chimulirenji has has condemned a recent spate of “horrific attacks” on people with albinism describing it as a barbaric act.

Chimulirenji, who is also Minister of Civic Education. made the statement when he addressed a political rally at Masintha ground in Lilongwe to familiarize himself with the party supporters since his appointment as running mate.
He said these barbaric acts have deeply traumatized people with albinism as they can no longer enjoy their rights to freely move around and also the most precious of all rights, the right to life.
“I would like to ask those with information to come forward and share it with security agencies so that our brothers and sisters with albinism can be protected,” said Chimulirenji.
The mutilation and murder of people with albinism is often linked to witchcraft.
Some witchdoctors say that magic charms are more powerful if they contain body parts from people with albinism – this has led to a lucrative criminal trade in these body parts.
In his address, Chimulirenji also asked people who attended the rally to vote for President Mutharika for development projects to continue.
He cited the cancer centre in Lilongwe as one of the poster projects of Professor Peter Mutharika which will help save lots of lives.
“The government has been spending millions of kwacha treating cancer patients abroad while many others have died in their homes because they could not afford such treatment due to financial constraints.
“This facility will enable a lot of such families to access cancer treatment within the country and hence save lives,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Uladi Mussa assured Chimulirenji of DPP support since he was chosen by the president himself and nobody has the authority to challenge the president’s choice.
DPP Secretary General, Grezelder Jefrey also praised President Mutharika for several development projects taking place in the central region such as the Salima-Lilongwe water project, Kamuzu International Airport upgrade and an upscale operating theatre at Kamuzu Central Hospital among others.
She then asked the people who attended the rally to vote for president Mutharika for the country to develop further.
Several cabinet ministers such as Jean Kalirani of Lands and Samuel Tembenu, Minister of Justice attended the rally among others.
Malawi will hold tripartite elections to elect president, members of parliament and councilors on May 21, this year.

Mbuzi za anthu. With such crop of politicians, does Malawi expect an economic miracle?
DPP leaders ‘ parroting of Chimulirenji’ s choice by Peter Mutharika, reminds some of us of the blind following of whatever late Dr Banda could say or choose, by his fearful
party henchmen who even sang annoying and ear-irritating dark melodies such as `Zonse zimene za Kamuzu Banda’, meaning to say infrastructure plus everything with life including human beings belonged to Kamuzu. There are no disparities in comparing what was done then and what is being done now in the DPP camp.
Chimulirenji is an unpopular name but the likes of Gertrude Mutharika and Chisale have molded what appears to be an imposed brand on the the DPP inner circle. You have corrupt characters like Goodall Gondwe, Chaponda, and Mussa etc, wasting no time in advertising the brand for reason best known to themselves. Do they live in fear or they have accepted their fate of rejection? Chenji Golo Uladi Mussa, with so many skeletons in his closet, was at it again at Masintha grounds, singing praise songs of Mutharika’s choice for running mate. The problem is these DPP thugs of politicians are more detached from Godly following but more attached to modern day pagan worshipping. Praising a president who has chosen a running mate whose sole mission is to show obedience to the president instead of serving the people is as good as worshipping pagans and Malawi is in trouble for this.
From my understanding of Chimulirenji, I have abstracted a few things that spell doom for the country if Mutharika is to be re-elected. These are the following impediments: 1-Mutharika’s choice or Chimulirenji as is now known, has a mission to serve one person and not the country. 2-Chimulirenji has nothing to offer to Malawians because he lacks knowledge to offer solutions to problems that people face. 3-Chimulirenji lacks independent mind or he is not innovative. The world has changed and is more competitive; Chimulirenji has no dynamism nor is he intellectually capable, as a stand-alone thinker, to reboot the country’s stagnant industrial prospect. 4-This is not the Era of yes bwanas like Chimulirenji but the Era of progressive minds that will or can reposition the country as a competitive regional economic power.
Chimulirenji fails to qualify as an international figure or lacks eloquentness to represent Malawi in the event of a demise befalling a Malawian leader. He has limited knowledge of the official language. ARE MALAWIANS SAFE?? TIME WILL TELL.
Was this a jibe at that stupid Dausi?
