Chimulirenji to speak out at Ntcheu rally on appointment as Mutharika’s running mate

Ntcheu North East Parliamentarian Everton Chimulirenji will on Sunday February 17  2018 hold a first political rally in his home town Ntcheu District since the rulling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and Malawi President Peter Mutharika hand picked him as running mate in the highly anticipated May 21 Tripartite Elections.

Chimulirenji: It’s operational landslide victory

A communication from the party indicates that the rally is scheduled to take place at Ntcheu old bus depot starting from 1 O’clock in the afternoon.

Accompanying Chimulirenji will be DPP’s Eastern Region Vice President Bright Msaka and several other DPP senior officials from Eastern and Central Regions.

There will also be musical entertainment with live performances from Tay Grin, Dan Lu and Joseph Tembo.

Malawians are expected to hear Chimulirenji‘s official response on numerous questions raised  towards his appointment as State Vice-President nominee.

Some including senior DPP officials are reportedly against Chimulirenji’d appointment describing him as not being fit for purpose of a progressive administration.

But President Mutharika maintain the Ntcheu North East parliamentarian is a suitable candidate who has always been loyal, trustworth, performer and dedicated member of the DPP.

His appointment is widely thought to counter State Vice-President and UTM Party leader Saulos Chilima’s momentum as the latter guns for the presidency in the election. Ironically, both candidates come from Ntcheu, and coincidentally, from the same constituency.

He beat the likes of Kondwani Nankhumwa, Bright Msaka, Samuel Tembenu and Henry Chimunthu Banda, among other DPP top brass tipped for the position.

The legislator, 56, is also part of Mutharika’s Cabinet, serving as Minister of Civic Education, Culture and Community Development. He served as deputy minister for Defence before the latest Cabinet reshuffle took him to his present portfolio.

Chimulirenji studied business administration and once worked with the then Ministry of Works. He was running a construction company when he joined newly formed DPP in 2005 under the stewardship of former president, the late Bingu wa Mutharika.

He is also the party’s deputy national director of elections, a position he was elected to at the party’s national convention in 2018.

  1. Chimulirenji, please dont bother us with your nuisance. You already declared that you are a puppet ready to cowtow everything that APM throws at you. Do we really need to hear it again?

  2. Malawians kugona And ndi makape a zaoneni. Mukufuna munthu wolankhula chizungu Ngati inu ndi azungu. That’s what we call neo-colonization. Go to Tanzania you will not hear John Pombe Magufuli speaking English. Even their parliamentary deliberations are in Kiswahili. They respect their mother tongue. Inu mukufuna VP wodziwa chingerezi???kumbwambwana . Ife pambuyo pa ameneyu basi chizungu chilibe ntchito Koma umunthu .

  3. You are going around giving several examples of leaders with low or no education. You are forgetting our Bakili Muluzi who had merely a birth certificate when he was first voted in as a state president.

  4. Please please! Zoona pa Old Ntcheu Bus Depot ndi malo opangira msonkhano? Pamseu ngati pamene paja. Change the venue!

  5. A dpp by choosing a running mate with just a diploma – what message are you sending to malawians??? that in the whole of the dpp there are no educated people you could have chosen apart from this guy, they are no more trusted people in dpp to fill this position of running mate???? so it mean the whole dpp is full of untrustworthy thieves, corruption etc, the rot of malawi politicians are all packed in the dpp. so it is not a surprise that there is high corruption, abuse of law, killings, tribalism. SO NOW YOU ARE GOING AROUND ASKING MALAWIANS TO VOTE FOR YOU AGAIN KKKKK MXIIIII

    1. By Choosing a guy with a diploma they’re sending a message that he is also qualify to serve in our govt. The minimum qualification for an M.P is M.S.C.E if i’m not mistaken and for minister or President, am not sure but i think he is qualified. Sometimes someone with less qualifications can do the job better. Taonani ama PHD anuwo zomwe akupangazo, anthu oti analemba okha malamulo adziko lino koma akukanika kuwatsa. Ndangonenapo za qualificationizo eti, koma za Chimulirenjizo capability yake sindikudziwa

    1. 7. Kodi tikungomva kuti he studied Business Administration up to which level? Kulipotu kuphunzira business administration yo koma osabwerako ndi china chili chonse. As citizens of this country we need to know the qualifications of our leaders as well.

    1. Part 1. Certificate, Part 2 advance certificate, Part 3: Professional certificate, part 4: Level one Professional, Part 5: Level 2 advanced professional diploma. Part 6. Diploma in Business Administration

      1. the impotance of EDUCATION comes when you internalise what you and bring a meaning change to your society and in your life…..SO IT DOESNT MATTER HOW LOW QUALIFICATIONS FOR CHIMURILENJI ARE, HE CAN PERFORM AS ALEADER……..WISDOM IS WHAT MATTERS WITH ALITTLE EDUCATION HE HAS,,,, HARRY TRUMAN, ABRAHAM LINCOLN. ANDREW JACKSON, NEVER SET A FOOT IN THE COLLEGE, BUT THEY REALISED THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION, AND BECAME GREAT US PRESIDENTS ,, DONT FOOL US,,, MALAWI HAS IT OWN LANGUAGE…..

  8. What is the point telling us Chimulirenji studied business administration without telling us his qualification. If he dropped out, just say so. If he failed to attain the qualification, state as well. There is no shame in doing that. There are many intelligent people who dropped or failed the courses they studied but are successful in other areas.

  9. Running mate wongotola pa Ginnery Corner round about kikikikikikikikikikiki, mphepete mwa nseu ………..komanso!

  10. What Chimulirenji should say is how David was chosen as King of Israel. There were more other capable and strong elder brothers but God chose David to be king . The same is about Joseph, in the dream he saw bundles of dry glass bowing to him. Let God be God in all this. Those who are bitter will not remain bitter for ever. What has been done can not be undone. If it is loosing it is better to loose gracefully than to loose shamefully with a scounderous runningmate.
