Chinyama undergoes successful surgery

Malawi national team left back  Ian Chinyama has undergone a successful face surgery on Wednesday evening  after  suffering from three fractures around the right eye and was admitted at Fern Crest Hospital in Rustenburg.

According Football Association of Malawi Competitions Officer Gomegzani Zakazaka, who is with the team in South Africa, the three hour operation was very successful and the player was  discharged from hospital on Thursday.

” I am now feeling better and I would like to thank FAM and all the team members for the support,”  Chinyamawas quoted on FAM website.

Meawhile, the Premier Bet Wizards defender  will be out of action for six weeks.

Chinyama was stretched off in the second half of the Flames’ second Cosafa Cup group A match against Mauritius on Tuesday after he collided with an opponent.

Scans at the hospital   revealed he has three fractures around the right eye.
