Chitipa United dare Moyale

Mzuzu Stadium in the city on Sunday where new arrivals in the TNM Super League Chitipa United have vowed to smack down their rivals Moyale Barracks Football Club in the day’s clash in the league battle.

The match which will be the first encounter for the two teams, is expected to draw huge support despite the two sides having a six-point difference on the log table.

Charles Kamanga’s boys-Moyale Barracks are on seventh position with six points from three games while Kondwani Mwaluweni’s Chitipa United are on 16th position with just a point from five matches played so far.

However, Chitipa United General Secretary Marshall Mwenechanya said  his young side is not discouraged with previous losses, saying they will fearlessly stand against the lions of Kaning’ina.

“We have what it takes to win against Moyale and I can boldly say that we have done our assignment well in as far as preparations are concerned,” he said.

According to Mwenechanya, the team is capitalizing on the fact that they once defeated the Lions of Kaning’ina when the two met in a friendly match. To Chitipa United, that means they can match against the soldiers.

On his part, Moyale’s Assistant coach, Charles Kamanga, laughed off Mwenechanya’s daring words, saying his team’s loss against Mafco Football Club over the weekend does not mean his boys are not fit. He said the loss will serve as a motivation to scoop the three points entitled to them.

“I have all the confidence that my boys will get the three points without any problem because we are using our vast experience in the field as a weapon,” he challenged.

The Lions of kaning’ina, in their recent visit to the central region, lost to Mafco Football Club 2-0 while their counterparts, Chitipa United will come in this match on the back of last weekend’s 2-1 loss to Kamuzu Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium.

Currently, Zomba based side Red Lions FC top super league with 11 points from 5 games followed by Premier Bet Wizards with the same number of points and games. Red Lions have a superior goal difference of three goals.
