Chitsulo hat-trick helps Silver beat Moyale 5-2

Silver Striker thrashed Moyale Barracks 5-2 on Saturday to maintain the top spot in the K65 million TNM Super League.

However, Moyale gave the spectators false hopes after they took a lead in the 6th minute through former Flames international striker Victor Phiri who beautifully headed in a Lovemore Mitengo free kick taken from the centre line.

Silver then reorganized themselves and were inspired by a penalty awarded in the 14th minute by referee Patrick Goleta after a Moyale defender had handled the ball inside the penalty box.

Ndaziona Chatsalira converted the spot kick.

After the equalizer Silver were on fire and put the soldiers defence on back foot with some crisp passes from midfielders Chikondi Likwemba, Harvey Mkacha, Ndaziona Chatsalira plus Green Harawa and Tony Chitsuro upfront.

Chitsulo: Wave of a hat-trick heroics

Chitsuro used his pace to overtake shaken Moyale defence to score two goals in the 17th and 21st minute respectively.

Misery continued to fall on Moyale Barracks as their marksman Victor Phiri was hit in the face by Lucky Malata but continued to play only to be substituted immediately after recess.

In the second half, Moyale started well enjoying more possession but failed to put the ball in the net.

The team squandered a lot of scoring opportunities and Silver should thank their goal keeper Alex Makina for being alert.

In the 72nd minute Ndaona Daisi scored the fourth goal after making a 360 degree turn before taking a shot beating helpless Moyale keeper Charles Sikwewa.

Chitsuro hit the last nail on Moyale’s coffin when he converted from a loose ball towards the goal line to complete his hat trick for the day.

Chrispin Fukizi scored a late consolation in the dying minutes of the game.

After the match, Moyale coach Nicolus Mhango blamed his side for conceding goals easily.

“We were over confident that is why we gave out the lead and conceded those silly goals,” said Mhango.

The Mzuzu based soldiers complete their central region tour against Blue Eagles at Nankhaka Sunday.
