New Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Franco Ndawa has confirmed that striker Chiukepo Msowoya will take over the Peoples Team captaincy from veteran midfielder Fischer Kondowe.
Msowoya who was the club’s top goal scorer and player of the season in the campaign for the title, takes the armband permanently and his deputies are Sankhani Mkandawire and Bashir Maunde.
“Yes we have changed the captain from Fischer to Chiukepo,” Ndawa confirmed.
He said Chiukepo shows total commitment to the game and leads through example – through his actions.
But Kondowe criticised the decision to change the team’s on field leader.
“We don’t change captains every season. It’s not right,” said Kondowe.
But the veteran midfielder said despite being stripped the armband, he will carry on from giving his best to the club.
“Yeah man, am still committed to bring success to Bullets and to our incredible supporters,” said Fischer.
Bullets who seek another title for a third years running, will continue their preparations to the forthcoming season with friendly games this weekend against Mafco and Dwanga.
