Chiukepo boosts Bullets’ Carlsberg Cup bid
Bullets FC have got a timely boost in their bid to defend the Carlsberg Cup as top striker Chiukepo Msowoya is expected to be available for the semi-final clash against Silver Strikers.
Bullets Vice-Secretary Kelvin Moyo disclosed that Chiukepo, who was undergoing trials in Lebanon, would arrive on Wednesday.
He said the bustling striker would add steel to the attacking prowess of the Bullets.
“Chiukepo Msowoya is returning from Lebanon and we are happy that his coming will have an impact on our bid to defend the cup,” Moyo said.
“He is in top form and we are happy that he has returned from trials just in time before the semifinals.”
But Moyo declined to shed more light on Chiukepo’s performance during the trials.
“We are yet to get informed on how he has performed. But he is in top form and we are optimistic that he will be successful,” he said.
He also said that another round of trials await Chiukepo at an undisclosed Tanzanian club shortly.
Bullets face Silver Strikers at Kamuzu Stadium barely a week after they beat the Central Bankers sponsored side in the third place offs of the inter-city bonanza.
Mighty Be Forward Wanderers face Moyale Barracks in the other semifinal at Civo Stadium.
