Chiumia donates sports items to Mzuzu team
Minister of Sports and Culture Grace Chiumia has given over various sports items to 10 outstanding football and volleyball teams in Mzuzu city.
Chiumia presented the donation last Wednesday to Fish Eagles, Mchengautuwa Reserves, Yimnet FC, Katoto Full Primary School and Masasa Girls football teams as well as Police Claws, Moyale Barracks, Mzuzu Academy, Katoto Secondary School and Katoto Trickers volleyball teams.
The Sports Minister said the donation is part of her ministry’s initiative to promote sports at local level an thanked United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) for funding the project.
We appreciate the challenges various local clubs are facing in the country,” said Chiumia.
Fish Eagles FC technical director Joseph Bolamoyo-Misinde thanked the minister for coming up with such an initiative.
