Civo defender snubs Blantyre giants

As many Super League teams seek to strengthen their squads ahead of the 2015 season, Blantyre giants, Big Bullets and Mighty Be-Forward Wanderers have bitter news from Lilongwe.

John Lanjesi with Sulom’s Aggrey Khonje and TNM official: To stick with Civo

Civo United’s defence pillar, John ‘Kintu’ Lanjesi whom the two rivals hoped they would land to bolster their defence has rebuffed their interests, opting to remain with Civo.

“I have made up my mind to remain at Civo United after further consultations and meetings with my bosses. It was an easy decision to make because it is the wish of every player to play for Bullets or Wanderers but at the end you choose what you like and where you feel you will be comfortable,” said Lanjesi.

But Big Bullets general secretary Harold Fote has not given up the pursuit to bring Lanjesi to the Peoples team camp.

“We still need his services, and we will not give up until Lanjesi sign for us.  Let me assure our fans that we will continue discussing with Civo and the player until we win the battle,” said Lanjesi.

‘Kintu’ is a mature player indeed. No rushings in these things. Dan Chitsulo got his exposure from right there at Civo. The chap akudya money ku Germany with a white wife to boot! A good player can get exposed from any team, even a military side as was the case with Dave Banda. Other Malawi very successful ‘feetball’ exports like Ernest Chirwali Mtawali, John Maduka, Stock Dandize, and Love Chafunya never played for Bullets nor nyerere Wanderers. Am not sure whether Limbikani Mzava, Robin Ngalande, Atusaye Nyondo – our current exports who also turn up for our national side –… Read more »

BB is bigger than one “Lanjesi”. BB has gone through turbulent waters and rough roads and still managed to come out of all those. Our strength is not based on one player called Lanjesi or lalanje. BB thrives in the power of its supporters that’s why we are called the peoples’ team. Next time some wisdom will be pumped into your senses and regret that you did not come to BB. After all I sympathise with you malawian players for we all know that yours is short carrier. Make hay while the sun shines.
