The cops registered their first big win last week after beating Blantyre based giants and former league champions Nyasa Big Bullets before beating Red Lions who were leading the log standings until Saturday 24th June.

Makonyola admitted that at any club, technical panel is always under intense pressure when registering negative results.

“Us coaches are always on pressure when the team is not doing well and as Blue Eagles, we are happy to have beaten Red Lions today.

“We will now settle down well and continue working on the remaining weak areas so that we maintain the good path we have taken,” said Makonyola.

Commenting on Red Lions game, Makonyola hailed his troops particularly the new faces for coping up well with the experienced players.

He also confessed that they really missed the services of some of their key players in Saturday’s game including Mecium Mhone who is currently with the Flames at the Cosafa Cup Tournament in South Africa.

“Some of our players are just new and from premier division teams and are not used to top flight football experiences but they are slowly catching up and they have started to gaini the experience. In todays match we also seriously missed some regular faces including Mecium
Mhone, Alupheous Nyoni and Junior Malidadi but we thank God for the win,” he said.

Meanwhile, Blue Eagles are on position six of the 16 member TNM Super League Log Table with 11 points from seven games.
