Conjoined twins that were born over a week ago at Nkhotakota District Hospital have died.
The twins died few hours before sugery to separate them at the Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in Lilongwe.
Spokesperson for KCH, Mable Chinkhata confirmed the death.
They were supposed to undergo surgery on Wednesday but the process was delayed due to shortage of blood suiting their blood group.
They needed about 200ml of all negative blood group.
Dr. Carlos Velera was expected to lead a team of fellow doctors during the surgery.
It is reported that the twins died as they were struggling to breathe and efforts to resuscitate them failed.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
