The twins died few hours before sugery to separate them at the Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in Lilongwe.

Spokesperson for KCH, Mable Chinkhata confirmed the death.

They were supposed to undergo surgery on Wednesday but the process was delayed due to shortage of blood suiting their blood group.

They needed about 200ml of all negative blood group.

Dr. Carlos Velera was expected to lead a team of fellow doctors during the surgery.

It is reported that the twins died as they were struggling to breathe and efforts to resuscitate them failed.

Not to take anything away from the doctors but even 6 months is less time to prepare for such kind of surgery let alone 2 weeks. Anyway miracles do happen

Nyasa Times you are confusing Malawians. The conjoined twins did not die because of lack of blood, go back and please get the story of the death right. The surgery to separate them was postponed because of lack of blood but that does not mean the postponement of surgery has anything to do or contribute towards their death. The death is purely out of other causes, could be natural. The lack of blood could be a blessing in disguise who knows it could have been contemplated as if the surgery has caused the death.
