Court set to hand down judgement on Mphwiyo attempted murder case

The High Court in Lilongwe is set to hand down judgment on former Budget director Paul Mphwiyo attempted murder case.

Prominent lawyer Ralph Kasambara and two others Macdonald Kumwembe and Pika Manondo are accused of attempting to murder Mphwiyo, an attempted murder that brought to surface issues of cashgate.

Mphwiyo was shot at in 2013 on his residence gate in Area 43 in Lilongwe and got medication from a South African hospital.

However, in a twist of events, Mphwiyo was charged with the plunder of the K30 billion plunder of public money at Capital Hill, the seat of government in Lilongwe.
