Court slaps car park sex pair with 40 hours community service

Blantyre Water Board (BWB) internal auditor, Thokozani Maluwa and his sex-mate, Emma Peter have been ordered by court to perform 40 hours of community service for having sex in a Mwaiwathu Private Hospital
car park.

Blantyre Magistrates Court on Tuesday convicted Maluwa 26-year-old and his 20-year-old Peter after they pleaded guilty to the charge of Idle and Disorderly under Section 180 of the Penal Code.

And on Wednesday Principal Resident Magistrate, Innocent Nebi slapped the two with a community service punishment for their ‘disgrace’ conduct.

The two were caught by a night-shift guard while ‘in the act’ in a Nissan Tida  BU 2489 parked at the Hospital’s car lot.

Magistrate Nebi described the incident as ‘unMalawian’, saying culturally it is unacceptable for people to have sex in a parking lot.

The Magistrate said he failed to understand the ”profound unacceptability of the pair’s behaviour”.

Nebi also said the incident has tarnished the image of Mwaiwathu Private Hospital.

Maluwa revealed to the court that Emma Peter is his girlfriend and that it was their first time to have sex in a car late alone at the hospital’s car park as they were in romantic mood and one thing led to another.

But earlier on during police interrogation, the two who are Ndirande Township residents, said they found the hospital’s car park idea for ‘car sex’ exciting.

Maluwa and Peter will perform their community service at Blantyre Magistrates Court.

Idle and Disorderly charge attracts a maximum fine of K1,000 in default three months imprisonment with hard labour (IHL)for first offenders and K3000 or six months IHL for subsequent offenders.

    1. They can do 40 hours in 3 days or in 10 days. They can take leave from paid employment work, while serving the noble sentence of community work. This is a good lesson to alonda wo and also the love birds. Privacy of a car parked at night in the cover of darkness in a public or private car park may not be adequate for love exploits that may rouse the interest of night guards. Their is a risk of arousing the central region of azilonda snd their reaction could be unpredictable. Better luck next time.
