Prince of M’mbelwa to wed in April

Mzimba District Council also known as M’mbelwa District Assembly in northern Malawi, has announced that the wedding of the Crown Prince of the Inkosi Ya Makhosi M’mbelwa Chieftaincy, Mkhosi Jere to his fiancee, Beauty Munthali will take  place on April 12, 2014 at his Headquarters (Mkosini) in Edingeni in the  district.

The Chief’s Council together with the M’mbelwa Royal family has sanctioned the establishment of a steering committee to spearhead the preparation and organisation of the “Royal wedding celebration under the Ngoni traditional norms and values.”

The steering committee is based in commercial capital Blantyre and chaired by Daniel Jere assisted by Webster Kaunga as Chief Coordinator.

While Dean Lungu and Harry Mkandawire are contact persons in Lilongwe and Mzuzu, respectively.

The Chief’s Council has also designated Inkosi Mabilabo as the key liaison between the Council and the steering committee.

“We are appealing to wobaba and womama wose ba Mzimba and all well wishers for your support, both morally and materially, to the organising committee to ensure a very successful wedding celebration befitting our Paramount Chief.

“To this end, a special bank account, M’mbelwa Wedding Fund, Account number 1001122092, under the control and authority of the steering committee has been opened at National Bank of Malawi, Henderson Street Service Centre to facilitate and account for all contributions from well wishers towards this wedding celebration,” says Inkosi Mabilabo.
