Malawi as a sovereign state does not need permission from Amnesty International to change laws that govern the country. If Hon. Dausi wants to propose change of Malawian law he should present the matter in Malawi parliament, and make sure there has been enough consultation with Malawians about the proposed changes. There are many countries on earth where death sentence is legal including USA but they do not need approval from Amnesty International to execute murderers in their countries. There’s need to take the problem of albino persecution and murder serious enough in Malawi for things to change. Malawi should… Read more »

Malawians. Bon Kalindo led people against these killings but i think he was misunderstood and was taken lightly, he had the same message the minister is suggesting, he pushed for the same death penalty. This is serious lets rescue our country from this barbaric act. Bravo Kalindo!!!!

So amnesty international should decide our destiny and what is good for us not our so called government?. Shame on you Dausi and big shame on government . When we say our government is inept this is exactly what we mean.. Next time you will tell us to ask the UN to give us security or protect us from thugs and armed robbers who are terrosing every corner of the country. If you cannot protect citizens and punish bad elements terrosing citizens then you have no business being anywhere near government. Pathetic people is what you are. So disappointed I… Read more »

This govt has failed in every sphere; be it in education, health, fighting corruption, nepotism, etc.
Doesn’t it sounds strange and shameful for a govt minister advising a CSO appeal for security help from Amnesty International? I feel ashamed of myself on this, what’s the role of govt in the albino killings?
It shamefully foolish for a govt minister to even utter such sentiments now when the same govt claims that it really represents Malawians than CSOs do.

In USA some states still have death penalty. why should we lobby amnesty. its because we are poor. We were rich we could have been making our own decisions. in fact death penalty is still in our laws its only that since multiparty we have not used it, but those who kill other people do not deserve to live

Lack of proper education, beliefs without hard work, etc will lead us no where. How can a person in their right mind believe in getting rich over night without hard work? It is the religious beliefs being preached by most of these resent guys who believe in juju. You will get nowhere
