Dean Josiah Banda has quit football administration after being appointed Malawi’s governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Regional Governor for the centre.
Josiah Banda, who got an award from Super League of Malawi during the prise presentation held on December 19 in recognition of his contribution to the development of football in the country, resigned soon after the appointment.
Banda said he quits as the world governing body’s rules and regulations stipulate that nobody should hold any political position.
“I have decided to resign because the rules do not allow sports administrators not to serve for a political organisation and at the same time,” Josiah Banda said.
The Central Region business magnet indicated he would quit sports administration after losing during the Central Region Football Association Elections in November last year.
He is also the solo sponsor of a Super League team Epac United.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
