Dedza Young Soccer has withdrawn the High Court obtained stopping Malawi’s flagship league runners Super League of Malawi (SULOM) from holding playoffs to come up with the 16th team.
SULOM directed Dedza alongside Wizard and Airborne Rangers should go for playoffs despite that the aggrieved team finished on position 12.
The decision did not go down well with the rookies who sought a court injunction in the middle of the playoffs.
But after a protracted legal battle the High Court offered temporary relief to SULOM by faulting Dedza for not respecting the decision.
But the court faulted SULOM for outright failing to offer them a platform to be heard.
SULOM Appeals committee found Dedza guilty last and recommended for them to participate in the playoffs but they have made it clear that they would not contest it in court.
Dedza Young Soccer General Secretary Harold Mmora said: “We have decided to withdraw the injunction and we will also not participate in the playoffs.
“It’s up to the High Court to make a decision but we feel that justice has not been done.”
Meanwhile, SULOM which is still in dilemma over the withdrawal of Chilumba Barracks after their promotion into the top league has said it will exercise its powers to resolve the playoffs issue.
Wizard beat Airborne Rangers in the first game of the playoffs before Dedza sought vourt order restraining SULOM from holding playoffs.
