Malawian rapper and radio personality, Dickie Shumba, popularly known as Diktator in the music circles, has a new song titled ‘Chilibe Season’.
In the new song, Diktator features Afro rapper/singer and Airtel Malawi brand ambassador Piksy as well as seasoned reggae-dancehall singer Nepman.
‘Chilibe Season’, a four-minute Afro dance love song, was produced by GD of Low Budget Records and recorded by Twin at the newly-established 123 Recordz in Chiwembe.
Though the song is due for official release on Thursday, 30 January, 2014, it was already available on the internet by Monday evening, posted on what is becoming Malawi’s top local music website, [highlight style=’peach’] www.malawimusic.com… [/highlight] and has received positive reviews.
On its website, malawimusic.com described the song as one of the best hip-hop duo features so far, saying, “Following up to the mood of the current Chinkhoswe music, Diktator and Piksy deliver a satisfactory edge of alliance in demonstrating the beauty of ambience and beauty of love.”
And commenting on the song, Diktator, who last released a song in January 2013 titled ‘Shasha Wafika’ said his new track was a reflection of where he was as a person.
He added: “It’s also something the people of my age group can relate to and am sure they will love it”.
The artist, is currently working on his second album, yet to be titled. He however refused to disclose its release date, saying he was taking his time because he does not want half-baked material.
