DPP appoints Vuwa as Campaign Director
Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has filled the position of Bessie Chirambo with legislature Vuwa Kaunda as National Campaign Director.
Information privy to Nyasa Times indicate that following the Northern Region party meeting last week, they elected Kaunda as a rightful person to hold the position.
According to a source who attended the meeting, they decided to choose Kaunda following his vast experience in politics.
“He is the person who held various top positions during the leadership of the late Proffessor Bingu wa Mutharika both at party and cabinet level,” said the party official.
Currently, Kaunda is the DPP Deputy Chief Whip in Parliament and Deputy National Organizing Secretary in the National Governing Council (NGC) and Member of Parliament Nkhata Bay Central .Asked for a comment on the development, DPP Secretary General Dr Jean Kalilani said the position is reserved for the north.
