DPP changes House bosses, Peter Mutharika leader

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) secretary general Wakuda Kamanga has confirmed Peter Mutharika  will now be its leader in parliament replacing George Chaponda.

He said the party agreed to change the leadership as Mutharika inherited the leadership of the party from late president Bingu wa Mutharika.

“We had a meeting last week where we agreed to change leadership in parliament, we now have new people who will be led by Peter Mutharika,”  Kamanga told Daily Times.

Mutharika is also DPP presidential candidate for 2014 elections.

According to Kamanga, Mutharika is deputised by Goodall Gondwe, the Chief Whip is Victor Sonja zap Kudzu Sajeni and Lonnie Chijere Chirwa is his deputy.
