DPP offices torched in Mzuzu during demo
The governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) offices in Mzuzu has been set on fire as demonstrations to force Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Justice Jane Ansah to resign turn violent in the city
The demonstrators also invaded Regional Road Traffic Directorate offices where they broke the main entrance gate but Malawi Defence Force soldiers managed to restrain them before they could do more damage.
Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) organised the demonstrations nationwide which were said to be peaceful.
The protesters in the capital city in Lilongwe matched towards State House and delivered their petition to presidential aide Mabvuto Bamusi.
MALAWI IS GOING THROUGH VERY DIFFICULT TIMES ,IT IS THAT TIME THAT CALLS FOR STRONG LEADERSHIP. OSATI ZIJAZOMANGOTI TIKULAMULIRA…….NDIKUFINYANIFINYANI
I doubt if the ship called Malawi has a Captain. Is he alive or dead? Is he within the country or somewhere? How powerful is Jane Ansah to force a whole president to coil his tail? May be he is not sure of himself, hence he should pave way for others. But for god”s sake not Chimulirenji, who happened to be the first serious blunder that Matharika had made. We need people who can ably articulate facts at international for a. For sure, we need our real Malawi back, not this mediocrity.

DPP TIKUYIONAYI SITIDZAYIONANSO
even in the bible there was wars between the israelites and others to reclaim their lost glory and God allowed this for the benefit of Many.now its time or corrupt and notorius people must die
I am smiling.
This is what we call tit for tat, good for powerless DPP.
Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!
Destroying property is criminal. What if the same happened to your family’s house? The organizers of the protests must set a good example for their followers. If MEC mismanaged the election and all concerned are justified to protest; it makes no sense for protesters to get so low as to destroy property or hurt. Destroying property is the same as mismanaging the election results. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Both are wrong y’all!
What kind of foolishness is this. So you think stealing billions is okay but burning an agry building like that is 3× wrong. Look my friend this country is sick and requires an operation to remove the tumor. It needs to be cut open. So some fresh will have to be cut. People have been dying for the past 5 years of curable diseases because money to buy drugs have been stolen. To stop that property will be destroyed probably life will be lost just like fresh being cut in a medical operation. That is necessary if you have stubborn people… Read more »
@Kanchenga
The problem is that demos have been infiltrated by thugs now. Most of them DPP THUGS / sympathizers themselves. And these are the ones now looting innocent people’s properties. Azimbuye awo are LOOTING government COFFERS and now they have sent PETTY DPP THIEVES to destroy the good image of demos.
We are loosing property and top DPP gurus and simply don’t care because they are thugs themselves and DO NOT belong to Malawi
what about if some one who mismanaged our election results is not resigning?
Kumpoto ko ulemu wanu, mukutiimilira tisaname, Moto unandi……………..
Kubwenzela Nkowawa….. inu mudakonza yanzanu office ku BT lero anzanunso akukonzani. Malawi wasopano.
I can see Muntharika soon going. I can see rerun but Muntharika will not be part of DPP next presidental candidate.
I can see Jane Ansa being arrested.
Unfortunately am not a prophet to tell the people in church.
So true
I wish you were my prophet.
