DPP plots to arrest Hope Alliance members
Blood is drooping on the hands of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) as it has plotted to arrest and “finish off” members of the Hope Alliance after Parliament rises today [Friday].
The party has been meeting and strategizing on how best to crackdown on the Hope Alliance, a pressure group of MPs within the DPP.
A senior party official who has been attending the meetings confirmed the plot to “cook up” cases that would justify their arrests.
“The party is concerned with the alliance and would like to finish it. After Parliament rises on Friday there are plans to arrest the members. I do not know if that plan will be fulfilled since there are
some people with opposing views,” the party source said.
Known alliance members are legislators Moses Kunkuyu, Jeffrey Ntelemuka, Wells Gama and Peter Nowa.
The party source some threats have been issued to the members to scare them and force them change their stand.
DPP’s second vice president Yunus Mussa and director of women Patricia Kaliati were non committal on why the party does not fire the MPs in the pressure group.
The pressure group as claimed by Kunkuyu has over 30 MPs and most of them fear to come out in the open for fear of losing lives.
The alliance is fighting for good governance in the party.
