DPP, UDF in electoral deal: Nankhumwa says its ‘gentlemen’s agreement’
“This is a gentlemen’s agreement,” Kondwani Nankhumwa, director of elections in the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) said of the agreed modality with n its political ally United Democratic Front (UDF) on how to feature candidates in the August 25 Local Government by-elections.
The by-elections are taking place in five wards of Khwawa in Karonga, Chibanja in Mzuzu, Msikisi in Mangochi, Zomba Central in Zomba City and Luchenza in Thyolo.>
According to press reports, two bedfellows have agreed that DPP will not feature a candidate in Mangochi and will instead support the UDF candidate, while in Zomba, DPP will feature a candidate who the UDF will support.
“You know we are in a working relationship and these are some of the things we will be doing,” Nankhumwa, who is also Minister of Information, Tourism and Culture , said as quoted by The Nation.
UDF spokesperson Ken Ndanga confirmed about the agreement.

this proves that UDF members of parliament have indeed crossed the floor therefor Mr. Speaker Sir! take action
Udf has successfully crossed the floor through the back door and nothing is wrong. It is like tax evasion and avoidance, avoidance is not wrong but the effect on govt coffers is the same.
Coalition parties in govt all over the world field their own candidates at local and national elections. Why not do the same you dpp or udf cheats?
