DPP’s Jappie and Charles Mhango donate solar panels to Rumphi District Hospital

Minister of Transport and Public Works, Jappie Mhango and Attorney General, Charles Mhango have donated 100 bags of Cement and two 100 watts solar panels to Rumphi District Hospital.

Jappie Mhango: Donates

Democratic Progressive Party  (DPP) Regional Governor for the North, Kenneth Sanga presented the donation on behalf of the two Mhangos on Thursday and the said the two made the donation in a bid to address some of the challenges at hospital.

“After receiving a request from the district health officials on the need of the ongoing brick fence construction project, the two decided to contribute towards the project,” Sanga said.

He said the two public officials made the donation as concerned and patriotic citizens of Malawi and appealed to other high profiled people in the district to emulate the gesture.

“By making the donation, the minister and the attorney general have proved their commitment to achieve the development pillars which are integrity, patriotism and hard work as advocated by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika,” Sanga said.

He then called on people in the district to continue supporting the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led- government which he said is the only administration which can foster development in Rumphi and the country as a whole.

Receiving the donation, acting Director of Health and Social Services at Rumphi District Hospital, Dr. Steven Macheso said the donation is a timely contribution towards the ongoing brick fence construction project which he said once completed, will go a long way in reducing drug theft cases at the facility.

“We have had problems with security at this facility because there is no fence and this donation will complement our efforts in constructing the brick perimeter fence around the facility,” Dr. Macheso said.

Earlier on, Sanga also presented K1 million to Mwazisi Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) and Chandamale Primary School respectively for the completion of construction works of school blocks at each of the schools.
