DPP’s ‘sesa, sesa’ orator Saonda in bribery scandal
Director of Public Events George Saonda has been embroiled in bribery scandal where he is allegedly getting millions of money in exchange with an audience with Malawi President Peter Mutharika, Nyasa Times can reveal.
Inside sources said Saonda, whose only claim to fame was the entertainment jibe on ‘Sesa Joyce sesaaa’ in the run up to the 2014 tripartite elections, has been getting bribes especially from Indians for an audience with Mutharika.
“He has collected a lot of money in millions of Malawi Kwacha and the Indians are now complaining that they are not getting an audience with H.E and this is what has led to them mentioning his name and the amounts of money he has collected,” said the source.
State House gurus are investigating the issue and were yet to call Saonda to hear his side of the story.
“But things are not looking too good for him because the evidence is just too much against him. It will be a miracle if he will get out of this one,” added the source.
In another development, ruling DPP Secretary General Grieselder Jeffrey popularly known as ‘Jeffrey wa Jeffrey’ is said to be contemplating of resigning from her post after receiving threats from Saonda and other DPP loyalists.
Insiders said Saonda and other DPP followers from the Lhomwe belt have been threatening Jeffrey with unspecified action accusing her of being responsible for punishing ‘bonafied’ DPP party members from enjoying the fruits of a ruling party.
“Saonda and his group believe Jeffrey was responsible for the sacking of former Civic Education Minister Patricia Kaliati from cabinet a few weeks ago and they take this as an insult to the bonafide party members from the lhomwe region who are owners of the party and should be enjoying the fruits of being in government,” said the impeccable source.
Saonda could not grant an interview to Nyasa Times.

I am not surprised at all. Activities such as Saonda’s are perfectly normal in DPP.
As for Jeffrey, my advice is for her to get out fast. Positions like hers are for DPP’s sacred cows from the Lhomwe belt or, if anything at all, from South.
