Drunk cop in ‘deep trouble’ after  video goes viral on social media – Malawi Police

Malawi Police have identified a rogue police officer whose exploits while in a drunken stupor have gone viral on social media.

Drunken cop to face the music

The officer, clad in police fatigues, was captured singing and mimicking singing Malawi’s national anthem in a mockery.

The singing made people around not to hold their laughter as they planned to share the clip on social media.

In the video circulating on social media, the cop is holding his police cap, visibly drunk  at a drinking joint.

National Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) James Kadadzela  said: “We have identified the police officer and disciplinary action is going to be taken against him.”

“It is unacceptable for a police officer to get drunk to the extent where he cannot be capable of controlling himself,” he said.

This guy is a shame to the police force and the country and the commander in chief. Soldier/ officers can be drunk – but not in uniform. The authority of the police officer is vested in his cap – which he was disrespecting in that clip. He was disrespecting the same symbols (national anthem) he vowed to respect – he should be fired.
