Evangelists geared for ‘Recipes and Rebuilding Walls’ on Transworld radio

Two Lilongwe-based preachers, Richard Zinyongo and Charles Gwengwe are expected to be sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through the radio program dubbed ‘Recipes and Rebuilding Walls’ scheduled to start airing on 1 June, 2020.

Gwengwe and Zinyongo set for the program
Inspired by the book of Nehemiah the program will be airing on Transworld radio every Monday from 8 to 8:30 o’clock in the evening and on Nkhoma Synod Radio (107.5 FM-Central Region) every Thursday from 7 o’clock in the evening where among others, the program will be focusing much on issue to do with rebuilding the broken of walls of church, family, business, career and economic.
Speaking to Nyasa Times,  evangelist Richard Zinyongo said the world and Malawi in particular need transformation and it takes a revelation to create a positive revolution for the transformation of the community, city and the nation.
According to Zinyongo, Prayer life, fasting and tithing are good biblical principles but should not promote laziness among the Christians.
“Before God sent Nehemiah to rebuild the walls, He sent Zerubbabel to rebuild the temple. Zerubbabel is a type of rebuilder of the church, whereas Nehemiah is a type of community transformer or wall builder-one who has a heart for the community, not just the church,” said Zinyongo.
He said its high time people have been exposed to false prophesies that have made them stagnant for a long time and it is time for them to know the real Gospel of Christ and grow in all aspects of their lives.
“We have various topics that we will be discussing with more emphasis to make sure that people are able to learn and reflect on how they handle issues in their day to day lives and we are driven by the book of Nehemiah,” he said
Complementing Zinyongo’s sentiments evangelist Gwengwe said real and tangible community transformation is just that- real and tangible! It is not spiritual wishful thinking or a loud enthusiastic declaration, but incarnated reality.
He said transformation is much more than what happens inside the four walls. It is more than just everyone going to church. It is much more than miracles signs and wonders.
“Our version of the church is what happens on Sunday within the walls but scriptures show that real church is what happens Monday through Saturday outside the church walls. We will never possess what we are not willing to pursue. Jesus knew this.
“Jesus did not set up a throne in the middle of each city and say, ‘This is my palace. This is the only place you can see me.’ He went to the market place. He went to the boats of fishermen. He went to the homes of the people. He went everywhere. He went through the towns, preaching the gospel of the cross and healing everywhere,” Gwengwe added.
For a long time now, both Zinyongo and Gwengwe have been on the limelight for organizing crusades in colleges and secondary schools and last year they organized crusades under the theme winning the Youth for Christ in 2019, where topical issues like spiritual growth and academic excellence were tackled.
Both  evangelists are gospel singers and Zinyongo has released some hymnbooks songs that are enjoying airplay in various Radio Stations. Many people are also believed to have been healed, delivered after listening to the songs.
