FA Malawi Charity Shield: Bullets to face Nomads
Champions Nyasa Big Bullets will face old time rivals Mighty Be Forward Wanderers in a Charity Shield on April 2 to signal the start of 2016 football season, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has announced.
FAM competitions manager Gomezgani Zakazaka made the announcement on Saturday at the end of the association’s Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) at Mpira Village in Blantyre.
“Initially, the Super League winner was supposed to play Presidential Cup winner but because we didn’t have that competition, Carlsberg Cup winner will play the league champions,” he said.
Nyasa Bullets are flagship league title holders while Wanderers won the Carlsberg Cup last season.
The Blantyre derby will take place at Kamuzu Stadium.
