The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has appointed John Kaputa as technical director a position which was previously held by legend Jack Chamangwana.
Kaputa who is a military office at the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) will be assisted by Charles Manda.
FAM has now engaged the MDF for the services of Kaputa – who is expected to sign a two year contract, chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda, said.
Meanwhile, Nation Publications Limited (NPL) sports journalist Gomezgani Zakazaka is FAM’s Competitions Officer.
He is expected to start his new job next month.
Zakazaka said it has always been his wish to venture into soccer administration having failed to play soccer to the top level.
“I am passionate about football and it has been my wish to be in football administration at top level having failed to play the game at top level,” said Zakazaka.
Other posts that have been filled are that of the Accounts Clerk which has been given to Patrick Kamanga who Ms. Hellen Mussa will be serving as the association’s receptionist.
Interviews for all the newly recruited staff was conducted in the past two weeks.
