Galamu claimed that he later followed only to find out that the ware house wall had fallen over casual workers.
“He decided to go out and find out what had happened but he was surprised to see people rushing to the company’s warehouse.
“He then followed to see what had transpired only to find out that the wall of the warehouse had fallen on one of the causal labourers only identified as Kondwani,” said Chibwana.
The Operations Manager then immediately arranged transport to take the deceased to Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH).
He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Meanwhile, Police are still investigating the matter to find the root cause of the accident.
The body of the late Kondwani is currently being kept at Kamuzu Central awaiting identification and postmoterm.
Poor safety management system. In Malawi we do not have a system of infrastructure audit. Its what our engineers should push for instead of just staying phwiiii. You wonder what Malawi Institute is there for… certainly not inspecting building, build could potentially advocate for such..
So sad. too beautiful to die.
Welengani chizungucho. Ali pachithunziyo si amene wafa
