Football Association of Malawi (FAM) will unveil the new Commercial Director next week to get down to work on 1 December.
FAM conducted interviews for the position of Commercial Director to replace Dan Tambala fired on allegations of ticket fraud for the 2014 World Cup held in Argentina.
FAM General Secretary Suzgo Nyirenda said all was set for Malawi’s soccer governing body to unveil the new Commercial Director who will spearhead the marketing of the association.
Nyirenda said the position of Commercial Director was crucial to the association in the commercialization drive of the body.
“We been keeping this a secret for the past three months after holding interviews but now we are ready to unveil the new Commercial Director to start his work on December 1,” Nyirenda said.
“We are intending to unveil the Commercial Director by Wednesday next week.”
The Commercial Director will join the Technical Director, John Kaputa and Financial Director Christopher Mdolo.
But Nyirenda declined to shed more light on the conditions of service for the Commercial Director with varying conditions for Financial Director Mdolo who is on a fixed, permanent deal while Technical Director Kaputa is on a three-year renewable deal
