FAMA Cup: Eagles set up final clash against Bullets

Blue Eagles will meet Big Bullets FC in Fellowship Association of Malawi (Fama) final after beating EPAC FC 2-0 on Sunday at Civo Stadium in the capital city of Malawi, Lilongwe.

The final clash will be held on April 8, 2012.

Bullets booked the final slot after beating Red Lions 2-1 on Saturday.

Eagles through to the finals

In Sunday’s encounter, Epac gave an early scare to Eagles when they scored in the 15 minute of the game through Jaffalie Chande but the referee disallowed it.

The cops scored their first goal in the 44th minute when Innocent Bokosi planted the ball in the EPAC’s net before sealing it with the second goal in after 76 minutes.

From the touchlines, Blue Eagles coach Decleck Nsakakuwona looked on in the sternest fashion but a smile broke out once referee blew his final whistle and vowed to take Bullets head in the finals.

“We can be proud of the team. Blue Eagles are now one of the formidable sides in the country. And the cup final is not unfamiliar place for us,” said Nsakakuwona who recently led his side into a Standard Bank cup victory

“We are geared for Bullets in the finals and we promise them a total war. We are not even shaken and we know we will grab the cup,” said Nsakakuwona.

The Cops revealed their own delight dancing a jig in celebrations.

The last time the two teams met in the finals was in 1995 in the finals of Chibuku Cup, when the cops won after beating the Ndirande Township based out-fit.
