FAM/FIFA U-16 League resumes this weekend

The FIFA/FAM under 16 Football League resumes this weekend after a month long break.

Sangala: U-16 league back in action

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Youth Development Officer James Sangala confirmed the development saying games will be played from this weekend.

The FIFA/FAM under 16 League is a youth development plan which FAM came up with in order to develop and nurture young talent in football.

The league is played in all the regions in the country.

Weekend fixtures for Saturday and Sunday will see Lilongwe Urban facing Dedza at Namitete Ground.

Lilongwe Rural West will battle it out Chigoli Academy at Lilongwe Community Ground while Lilongwe Rural East will take on Kasungu at Nanjiri Ground among other matches.

In the Eastern Region, Chiradzulu will play Machinga at Chiradzulu Secondary School whilst Balaka face Zomba Rural at Balaka Stadium.

The northern region’ tussle brings together Mzuzu City and Mzimba North at Chibavi Primary School with Chitipa dating Mzimba South at Chitipa Base among other games.

In the Southern Region, the FIFA/FAM Under-16 fixtures will see Chikwawa taking on Mwanza at Chikwawa Ground as Nsanje play Blantyre Rural at Nsanje Youth Centre among other games.

“We expect entertaining football from these young stars. We hope they have come in good shape after the long break,” Sangala said.
